It’s likely fair to say that the higher the dosage, the more sedating CBD may be.
Moreover, different dosages of CBD may be better suited to treating certain symptoms or conditions. For example, the Mayo Clinic suggests 200-300 mg of CBD daily for epilepsy, 20 mg of CBD for chronic pain, and up to 1200 mg of CBD for schizophrenia.
Your CBD Dosage & Your Bodyweight
Dosing CBD can also be difficult since someone’s ideal dosage will likely depend on their body weight.
Generally speaking, heavier people may require a larger dose of CBD in order to experience the same effects. What does this personally mean for you? If you are heavier, don’t be surprised if small doses aren’t particularly effective.
But even though CBD’s side effects are minimal, they do still exist. Don’t just start taking massive doses of CBD. Start low and work your way up slowly to ensure that your body responds well to it and that side effects are kept to a minimum.
CBD & Side Effects
One of the great things about CBD is that it has relatively few side effects. But nevertheless, studies have often reported subjects suffering from dry mouth, upset stomach, lightheadedness, and low blood pressure – especially at higher doses.
If you experience stomach discomfort when taking CBD, it may be a good idea to switch to a sublingual application or to stop altogether. Likewise, if you struggle with low blood pressure, it may be wise to refrain from taking large doses of CBD.
